Tonewood uses advanced Distributed Mode Loudspeaker (DML) technology to turn wooden furniture into rich, room-filling speakers. The carefully tuned front panel material ensures a great, full sound can be realised without any visible speaker in the room.
Created for furniture makers, joiners, carpenters and skilled DIYers, fitting the Tonewood is straightfoward. Rout the rear surface of the furniture in the desired location down to 2mm thickness and bond the Tonewood using a high-strength two-part composite adhesive.
For optimum performance, the bonding process must ensure a completely uniform adhesive layer with no trapped air bubbles between the Tonewood panel and the wood surface. This creates the perfect coupling, allowing the panel to reproduce sound with remarkable clarity, detail, and coverage.
Unlike conventional speakers that require visible cabinets and grilles, Tonewood is completely hidden. The technology is integrated discreetly behind the furniture surface, preserving the natural aesthetics while delivering impressive audio performance.
Tonewood is a great solution for buildings and rooms where the construction might make in wall / in ceiling plaster over invisible speakers hard to fit, or the terms of the building use mean installing speakers in the walls/ceilings is not possible.

We advise boxing the Tonewood in to improve acoustic performance, protect the speaker and hide the device in the finished furniture.
Tonewood panels are just 300mm x 210mm with a depth of just 32mm - created to be small enough to be neatly incorporated into multiple furntiure applications.
